Search Begins for UT’s Next Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs

KNOXVILLE -- The University of Tennessee has begun the search for a new vice president for development and alumni affairs.

The committee, chaired by UT Executive Vice President David Millhorn, kicked off the search today in its first meeting. The committee reviewed the job description and discussed the importance of this position.

The vice president for development and alumni affairs serves as the University's chief development officer provides leadership, planning, coordination and management of development and alumni affairs programs for the entire multi-campus university system. The vice president also serves as president of the University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc.

In addition to Millhorn, the committee includes 18 members representing the University and outside relationships:

  • Kenneth E. Blackburn, vice president-external affairs at AT&T
  • Patricia Branam, associate vice chancellor, UT Chattanooga
  • Kennard D. Brown, executive vice chancellor, UT Health Science Center
  • Dorothy Bryson, senior development director, UT Knoxville
  • Linda Hendricks, UT chief human resources officer
  • Spruell Driver, UT trustee
  • Mike Hamilton, director of athletics, UT Knoxville
  • Dee Haslam, CEO of RIVR Media
  • Tommy Jervis, student government association president, UT Knoxville
  • Joe Johnson, UT president emeritus
  • Andrea Loughry, UT trustee
  • Michael Moss, president, UT Alumni Association
  • Jerald Ogg, vice chancellor, UT Martin
  • Kris Phillips, associate vice chancellor-alumni affairs, UT Health Science Center
  • Steve Schwab, chancellor, UT Health Science Center
  • Lofton Stuart, executive director, UT Alumni Association
  • Jim Thompson, dean and professor, UT College of Veterinary Medicine
  • John Tickle, president, Strongwell Corp.

The new vice president will replace Henry Nemcik, who left the University last summer. Scott Rabenold is serving as acting vice president.
