UT Audit Committee to Meet Dec. 2; Effectiveness and Efficiency Committee to Meet Dec. 3

The audit committee of the University of Tennessee Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at noon Dec. 2 in Memphis.

The meeting will take place in the Dean of Allied Health's conference room in the 930 Madison building at the UT Health Science Center.

Agenda items include:

  • an update by the consultants reviewing the relationship with the University of Tennessee Medical Group;
  • financial statements for the UT and UC Foundations;
  • an overview of the research compliance efforts at the Health Science Center;
  • and approval of the internal audit and institutional compliance plans for 2009.

The Committee on Effectiveness and Efficiency for the Future, a special committee of the board, is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 3 in Nashville.

The meeting will be held at the offices of Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry PLC, 1600 Division St., Suite 700.

The committee is overseeing a board initiative to review effectiveness and efficiency in the context of maintaining academic quality.

Agenda items include:

  • an update on the governor's higher education budget hearing held Nov. 25;
  • a review of measures and actions taken to date;
  • a review of comments from the initiative's Web site;
  • a review of vacant positions and historical FTE summaries;
  • and discussion of draft indicators and measures.
