Our land-grant mission establishes the expectation that the university will address societal, economic, and environmental issues that affect the lives and well being of citizens of Tennessee and beyond. Engagement of the university with the state’s citizens, communities, counties, and regions occurs through a variety of outreach programs and is expected of each academic unit of the university.
