UT Extension has been part of Martha Pile’s life for as long as she can remember.
Growing up, Martha’s family, worked closely with local UT Extension agents. In fact, her family was the first International Harvester family in her community.
“I was an active 4-Her and spent much of my youth working on inventive and creative projects, which have carried over into my Extension work,” Martha said.
For 40 years, Martha has put her creativity to work as a UT Family and Consumer Sciences Extension agent. She helps families find ways to improve their lives through Extension’s programming.
Whether it’s baking biscuits or helping her set up for an event, Extension also allows Martha the chance to involve her family.
“Extension has given me ownership of my community and the opportunity to help people by bringing evidenced-based programs into their homes and small businesses,” Martha said.
Martha and her husband, Roger, have a blended family that includes Marther's three children, Roger's four children and their 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When she is not working or spending time with her grandchildren, Martha enjoys a number of creative activities such as painting, sculpting and restoring old houses.
