UT System Student Experience Survey
Our students’ voices matter.
The University of Tennessee System is committed to understanding and improving the experience of every student.
Each year, the UT System Student Experience Survey gives students an opportunity to share what it’s really like to be a UT student — what’s working well, where there are challenges and where the university can do better.
The survey asks students about areas including belonging, access to resources and support, academic confidence and their overall campus experience. The feedback helps UT institutions and UT System leaders identify strengths, understand student needs and inform decisions about the student experience.
In fall 2025, more than 20,700 students participated in the survey, representing about one-third of UT students statewide.
For Current Students
Students are invited to share their experience through the fall 2026 survey, which takes about 5–7 minutes to complete.
Survey dates vary by campus:
UT Knoxville: Oct. 12–Nov. 6
UT Chattanooga, UT Southern, UT Martin and UT Health Sciences: Oct. 5–Oct.30

How UT uses student feedback
Student feedback helps UT understand both what students value about their experience and where there are opportunities to improve.
The survey also allows UT to track student experience over time. Fall 2025 results showed improvement across all five core systemwide indicators compared with Fall 2021, including students’ perceptions of belonging, campus responsiveness and access to resources and support.
Student privacy matters
Students sign in with their UT credentials so each student can respond only once and so responses can be connected with a limited amount of general student information, such as campus, college, major and student level.
Individual responses are confidential. Results are reported in summary form and are used to inform campus- and system-level planning and improvements. Survey responses do not affect a student’s grades, financial aid, housing or academic standing.
