Apply: UT Promise
Which type of student are you?
Students wishing to apply for UT Promise and begin classes at UT Knoxville, UT Chattanooga, UT Martin or UT Health Science Center must complete all of the following application steps. These deadlines apply to all students who are not currently high school seniors or current UT students, including the following:
- Transfer students enrolling at UT during or after summer 2020 (if you are transferring to UT in spring 2020 you are considered a current UT student)
- Nontraditional students or adult learners enrolling at UT during or after summer 2020
- First-time freshmen who took a gap year (graduated May 2019)
|Feb. 1, 2020||File the 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
To receive your financial aid, including UT Promise, you must complete financial aid verification if you are selected. The priority deadline for financial aid verification is July 1, 2020.
|July 1, 2020||Complete the UT Promise Application.
The UT Promise application will open Feb. 10, 2020.
This application is only for students who are currently NOT high school seniors or UT students. If you are high school senior or a current UT student, please visit the application page that corresponds with your current status
|July 1, 2020||Priority deadline to apply for undergraduate admission to your UT institution(s) of choice.
To track your service hours, you will need your NetID, which you will receive upon admission to the university. Thus, we highly encourage you to apply for admission before the priority deadline.
|Aug. 1, 2020||Complete and submit 8 hours of community service.
Submit by 11:59 PM CT through your campus service tracking site.
You may begin working on your service hours after Feb. 10, 2020. You will submit your service hours through your campus service tracker with your NetID.
|Aug. 1, 2020||Ensure UT institution of choice is listed on your TSAC Portal and FAFSA.|
|Fall 2020||Enroll as a full-time student at your UT institution of choice.|
