Proposed Structure for the Next Strategic Plan
The plan will be anchored in the UT System’s mission, vision and values and organized into a clear strategic hierarchy that will include:
- Strategic Priorities: High-level focus areas reflecting systemwide goals and challenges.
- Strategic Goals: Specific, measurable outcomes under each priority, including benchmarks against peer university systems.
- Initiatives: Targeted efforts and actions to advance each goal.
This structure allows the UT System’s plan to align with campus-specific strategic plans, providing room for local focus while reinforcing collective impact.
Timeline and Key Milestones
The development of the UT System’s 2025–2030 strategic plan is underway. Below are the major milestones guiding this important work.
Spring 2025
The Executive Steering Committee — guided by the UT System and consulting partner Deloitte — engaged the broader UT community through interviews, focus groups and a survey to targeted members of the UT community. This feedback is helping shape the direction and priorities of the new strategic plan.
Summer 2025
Using input gathered from across the system, the plan will be finalized and prepared for public release.
Fall 2025
The 2025–2030 UT System Strategic Plan will be formally presented at the fall meeting of the UT Board of Trustees.
