Guidelines for Addressing the Board
In conjunction with regular meetings of the UT Board of Trustees, students, employees and members of the public will be given the opportunity to address the board or one of its committees regarding items on the meeting agenda or other matters relevant to the board’s responsibilities.
Speakers may comment on:
- Items listed on the meeting agenda
- Other issues relevant to the board’s responsibilities
Key Information
The agenda for committee and UT Board of Trustees meetings will be published on the board’s website approximately one week prior to each meeting.
The board will not hear speakers on the following topics:
- Grievances or appeals specific to individual students or employees
- Pending or threatened litigation involving the university or its officials

Next Opportunity to Address the UT Board
The next opportunity to address the Board of Trustees will be in connection with the upcoming annual meeting of the board. The meeting will be held at the UT Chattanooga campus. To address the Board of Trustees, individuals must pre-register by completing a request form. Requests for the annual meeting of the board will be accepted until 5 p.m. (CST), Monday, June 23.

The registration form will be available approximately one week prior to the Annual Meeting scheduled for June 30 – July 1, 2025.
*Forms submitted electronically will be considered submitted as of the date and time of electronic receipt by the Board of Trustees Office. Individuals may also pre-register by contacting the board office at (865) 974-8886 prior to the deadline.
