Support From Every Angle
At the University of Tennessee, we’re helping students, faculty and staff succeed by prioritizing wellness.
Our wellness framework is grounded in national research from SAMHSA, the Inter-Association Well-Being Definition and the Global Wellness Institute. It is built around the Eight Dimensions of Wellness — physical, emotional, social, financial, intellectual, spiritual, occupational and environmental. A shared definition of wellness allows us to recognize both successes and challenges more clearly, making it easier to identify and implement effective solutions.
While student well-being remains central, we recognize that wellness is essential for everyone in the UT System. When students, faculty and staff all feel supported across these dimensions, our entire community is better equipped to thrive. That’s why we’re committed to creating environments, resources and communities across our campuses that promote balance, provide tools to navigate life’s demands and help every individual reach their full potential.
