For the academic year that begins in fall 2020, all University of Tennessee campuses are proposing no tuition increases to their individual advisory boards.
In a virtual meeting, President Randy Boyd updated trustees as to the ongoing impact, plans to return to campus and looking to the fall during this era of COVID-19.
Following CDC guidance, the Board of Trustees will hold a virtual meeting Friday 8 a.m. EDT to be briefed about the University’s ongoing COVID-19 response.
At the meeting, the Board of Trustees will consider appointing Interim President Randy Boyd to the position of president up to June 30, 2025. The Board will also be briefed on the University’s actions and plans in response to COVID-19.
These meetings will gather input and feedback on the appointment of interim president Randy Boyd to the presidency of the UT System for a term of an additional five years. Boyd has served as interim president since November 2018.
Based on positive feedback from Boyd’s review process, John Compton said he recommended removing the interim title and extending Boyd’s term as president for a term of five additional years.
The Board of Trustees will meet at the UTC University Center on East 5th Street. Committee meetings and the meeting of the full board will be webcast live and archived for later viewing.
