PUBLIC NOTICE: Upcoming UT Board of Trustees Meetings Announced

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will hold its fall meetings Oct. 15 and 16 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Student Union, 1502 Cumberland Ave., Knoxville, Tennessee 37916. All public sessions will be held in the Student Union Ballroom (rooms B and C).

Meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Thursday, Oct. 15
    • 3:45 p.m. EDT – Audit and Compliance Committee*
      (*) The public session is expected to be brief and limited to the formal actions required to call the meeting to order, approve the prior meeting’s minutes and immediately enter an executive, nonpublic session.
  • Friday, Oct. 16
    • 8 a.m. EDT – Education, Research and Service Committee
    • 10:15 a.m. EDT – Finance and Administration Committee
    • 1 p.m. EDT – Fall Meeting of the Board of Trustees

All meeting times are approximate. If a meeting ends earlier or later than expected, the next meeting may begin following a short break. All public meetings will be webcast live and archived for later viewing; a link to the webcast will be available at tennessee.edu.

Agenda items include, but are not limited to:

  • President’s report
  • Fiscal year 2026-27 operating budget appropriations request for specialized units
  • Proposed ground lease amendment for a housing project at UT Knoxville
  • Proposed facility naming at UT Knoxville
  • Report on UT System degrees awarded, student debt and graduate outcomes
  • Report on student cost of attendance and financial aid
  • Proposed updates to peer and aspirational institutions for UT System and UT campuses
  • Proposed new academic units at UT Martin
  • Proposed new academic program at UT Knoxville
  • Annual update from the UT Research Foundation

Requests to address the board concerning items on the meeting agenda or other issues germane to the responsibilities of the board may be submitted using the registration form available at https://tennessee.edu/about/leadership/board-of-trustees/engage/request-to-appear/. Requests will be accepted until 5 p.m. EDT on Monday, Oct. 12. The board’s Standing Rule Governing Requests to Address the Board (also available at the above link) describes the procedures, terms and conditions that govern requests to address the board. The Board of Trustees will notify registrants whether they will be scheduled to speak at the meeting and, if so, the specific time and place of their presentations.

Anyone with a disability or otherwise needing assistance to attend this meeting may contact the individuals listed below to request auxiliary aids or services needed to facilitate attendance. Contact may be made in person, by writing, by email, by telephone or otherwise and should be received no later than 5 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
