In-State Undergraduate Tuition and Mandatory Fee Proposal

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will consider a proposal to increase undergraduate in-state tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) at the Board’s upcoming meeting on February 26-27, 2026. Tennessee law (Tennessee Code Annotated § 49-7-1603) requires boards of public universities to give public notice of proposed increases to tuition and mandatory fees charged to in-state undergraduate students at least fifteen (15) days prior to holding a public meeting to adopt the increases. Individuals are permitted to provide comments during the fifteen-day period. The public comment period will end Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. EST/5 p.m. CST.

** The RN-to-BSN program is billed on a per-credit hour basis and can be completed in one-year, depending on the student’s choice of hours per semester. This program requires thirty credit hours, and the total cost of the program is $12,000, whether it is completed in one year or more.
*** For evaluation purposes, the Undergraduate program, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Accelerated) program is being used, as it is the undergraduate program with the highest tuition dollar increase for resident students. This program, combined with the Mandatory Fee increase, is used to provide a total percentage increase for undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees.
