KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — University of Tennessee System President Randy Boyd will visit Walker Valley and Bradley-Central high schools on Thursday, Sept. 25, to speak with students about college opportunities and the value of higher education.
The visits mark the second stop on Boyd’s “Find Your Future” high school tour, a fall initiative that will take him across Tennessee to show how a UT degree can transform lives.
“Higher education gives students the freedom to dream bigger,” Boyd said. “A UT degree can change their lives. With affordable tuition, ample scholarships and aid, and five universities across the state, there’s a place in the UT System for every student. These visits are about inspiring young people and showing that a UT degree benefits us all — ourselves, our communities, our state and, most importantly, our future.”
Thursday, Sept. 25, visit schedule:
- Walker Valley High School — 8:45–9:15 a.m. ET, 750 Lauderdale Memorial Hwy, Cleveland, TN
- Bradley-Central High School — 9:45–10:15 a.m. ET, 1000 S Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN
At each stop, students will hear personal stories and encouragement from Boyd, UT Chattanooga Chancellor Lori Bruce and a recent UTC graduate.
“Located in the heart of downtown, UT Chattanooga is an innovation hub where students gain real-world skills and hands-on experience,” Bruce said. “Students from across Tennessee, the U.S., and beyond choose UTC for the value of our degrees, strong academic programs, vibrant campus community and opportunities to launch successful careers right here in Chattanooga.”
Boyd will also emphasize the UT System’s commitment to affordability. More than half of UT students graduate debt free, a reality made possible through financial aid programs and scholarships like UT Promise, which assists with tuition and mandatory fees for eligible Tennessee residents.
