PUBLIC NOTICE: Upcoming UT Board of Trustees Meetings Announced

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will hold its annual meetings June 29 and 30 on the University of Tennessee Southern campus, 423 W. Madison St., Pulaski, Tennessee 38478. All public sessions will be held in the Gault Art Gallery in the Gault Fine Arts Center unless otherwise indicated. 

Meetings are scheduled as follows:

  • Monday, June 29
    • 1:30 p.m. CDT – Finance and Administration Committee
    • 3:30 p.m. CDT – Audit and Compliance Committee (public session)*
      (*) An executive, nonpublic session of the Audit and Compliance Committee will immediately follow the conclusion of the public session.
  • Tuesday, June 30
    • 8 a.m. CDT – Education, Research and Service Committee
    • 9:45 a.m. CDT – Campus updates: student success outcomes (Recital Hall, Gault Fine Arts Center)
    • 11 a.m. CDT – Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees

All meeting times are approximate. If a meeting ends earlier or later than expected, the next meeting may begin following a short break. All public meetings will be webcast live and archived for later viewing; a link to the webcast will be available at tennessee.edu.

Agenda items include, but are not limited to:

  • President’s report  
  • A report from the UT Institute for Public Service 
  • Election of the board chair and appointment of committee chairs 
  • Fiscal year 2026–27 operating budget (including salary plan, student tuition and fees, and room and board rates) 
  • Capital outlay and maintenance funding requests for fiscal years 2027–28 through 2031–32 
  • Proposed support for the development and implementation of new reduced-credit undergraduate degree programs 
  • Proposed academic unit reorganization at UT Martin  
  • Proposed new academic programs at UT Knoxville 
  • Proposed faculty handbook revisions for UT Knoxville and UT Martin  
  • Proposed facility naming, UT Martin

Requests to address the board concerning items on the meeting agenda or other issues germane to the responsibilities of the board may be submitted using the registration form available at https://tennessee.edu/about/leadership/board-of-trustees/engage/request-to-appear/. Requests will be accepted until 5 p.m. EDT on Thursday, June 25. The board’s Standing Rule Governing Requests to Address the Board (also available at the above link) describes the procedures, terms and conditions that govern requests to address the board. The Board of Trustees will notify registrants whether they will be scheduled to speak at the meeting and, if so, the specific time and place of their presentations. 

Anyone with a disability or otherwise needing assistance to attend this meeting may contact the individuals listed below to request auxiliary aids or services needed to facilitate attendance. Contact may be made in person, by writing, by email, by telephone or otherwise and should be received no later than 5 p.m. EDT, Friday, June 26.
