Tennessee has an estimated 70,000 people addicted to opioids, according to the Tennessee State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Yet hope remains.

The University of Tennessee—with its unique capacity to provide education, conduct research and deliver outreach to every corner of the state—is turning its combined capabilities to the opioid crisis.
