Maintaining UT Promise
To maintain UT Promise eligibility, students must complete the following requirements:

- Be a full-time, continuously enrolled student
- Maintain the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship
- Complete the FAFSA annually
- Complete and submit 8 hours of volunteer service hours every semester prior to each semester
- Meet with your mentor at least 3 times during the semester to maintain eligibility in the next semester

Community Service
December 1: Complete and submit 8 hours of community service to maintain eligibility for Spring.

To be eligible for the Spring semester, service hours must be completed and submitted between June 2 and December 1.
Coordinate with your mentor to also ensure that you complete a minimum of three (3) mentor meetings by December 1. Your mentor is responsible for reporting the completion of mentor meetings.
June 1*: Complete and submit 8 hours of community service to maintain eligibility for Fall.

To be eligible for the Fall semester, service hours must be completed between December 2 and June 1.
Coordinate with your mentor to also ensure that you complete a minimum of three (3) mentor meetings by December 1. Your mentor is responsible for reporting the completion of mentor meetings.
No additional service hours are required if you are taking Summer or Winter short-term courses.
Students will track their service hours through their campus service tracking sites. Students can also use the sites to sign-up for community service opportunities. If you have questions about what counts as service, please contact your campus service tracker administrator.
*This deadline was previously July 1 and was changed to more closely align with the end of Spring semester.
