The Tennessee Consumer Education Programs funded by SNAP-Ed and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Programs run through the FCS department provide nutrition education to families all across Tennessee through Extension. These programs are in community sites and have recently been more present in recovery sites. Agents and Program Assistants provide direct education to nearly 6000 adults per year on diet quality, food budgeting, and food safety. These skills are particularly helpful for people in recover who are relearning care for their bodies and their new nutritional needs.
